World’s Shortest Distance Relay Champion – GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC
In the rapidly developing fields of data centers and high-speed networks, transmission speed and stability have always been the focus of attention for major manufacturers and users. Today, GIGALIGHT introduces a highly anticipated new product – the 800G OSFP DAC, which has quickly become popular in the 5-meter copper interconnect market and is a hot contender for the championship due to its exceptional performance and reliable stability.
The 800G OSFP DAC (800G Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable Direct Attach Copper Cable) is a powerful and compact solution for intra-rack or rack-to-rack connections. This high-speed interconnect solution is designed to meet the demands of today’s high-density, high-bandwidth data centers. The exceptional performance of the 800G OSFP DAC lies in its ability to provide fast, reliable, and efficient data transmission. With a speed of 800G per second, it offers enormous bandwidth capacity, meeting the needs of high-speed data processing and transmission. Despite its high-speed capabilities, it consumes minimal power, making it an environmentally friendly choice for low-carbon green data centers.
GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC includes passive copper cables (PCC) and active copper cables (ACC), complying with OSFP MSA and IEEE802.3ck specifications. It uses 16 pairs of copper cables to support 8-channel, 112GB/s bidirectional transmission and achieves backward compatibility in rates. The product is fully compatible with NVIDIA devices and matches NVIDIA product specifications. High-speed copper cable products have natural advantages in terms of cost, power consumption, transmission latency, and failure rate, while active copper cables (ACC) further extend the transmission distance of passive copper cable products. GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP PCC series supports up to 3m, while the 800G OSFP ACC series can transmit up to 5m, meeting the requirements of Nvidia AI data center construction.
Copper Interconnect Advantages: Stable and Reliable
Compared to fiber-optic connections, copper interconnects have significant advantages in cost and flexibility. GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC adopts a high-quality copper cable design, maintaining stable signal transmission within a 5-meter range and greatly reducing attenuation and interference. This not only enhances transmission quality but also reduces deployment costs, making this product more competitive in data center rooms, high-performance computing clusters, and other scenarios.
Efficient Heat Dissipation for Continuous Operation
Heat dissipation has always been a non-negligible challenge in high-speed data transmission. GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC comes in two packaging forms: Finned-top and Flat-top (RHS). The OSFP Finned-top packaged module features a top design with heat-dissipating fins and an integrated top heat sink, improving heat dissipation efficiency when processing massive data. The OSFP Flat-top (RHS) does not come with a heat sink and relies on the heat sink on the NIC port to assist in module cooling, allowing it to be placed in compact or restricted spaces without interference.
Green and Energy-saving
In the current global context of advocating for environmental protection, GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC also fully considers the need for energy saving. Through optimized circuit design and advanced low-power technology, the product achieves lower energy consumption while ensuring high performance. This not only saves electricity expenses for users but also aligns with the global trend of energy conservation and emission reduction.
With its exceptional performance, reliable stability, and flexible application scenarios, GIGALIGHT’s 800G OSFP DAC stands out in the 5-meter copper interconnect market and is a hot contender for the championship. Whether in data centers, high-performance computing clusters, or other high-concurrency, high-data-volume application scenarios, this product provides users with efficient, stable, and reliable transmission solutions.
